It’s time to increase your website’s page speed.

AMP has been around since 2016 with little impact on your organic rankings, so why start using them now?

Google has been making mobile search a high priority for a few years now. So, even if you don’t see an immediate impact on your rankings, by using AMP, you are setting your website up for future success against your competition and allowing users to access your content with ease as Google continues to focus heavily on mobile.

What are Accelerated Mobile Pages?

Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) are a stripped-down version of your web pages. Its main purpose is to make web pages load faster on your mobile device.

Using AMP on your website will remove all the unnecessary elements like popup banners, video ads and external CSS.

Why does it matter?

By removing the above elements, your website will load content at a faster rate than a normal page. This should give your website a huge boost in visibility and even allows individual pages to be featured in the carousel that appears above traditional Google search results

Overall, this means your site has a higher chance of ranking for a featured snippet on a mobile device.

FYI: As of right now, a page with AMP protocols won’t boost your site’s page authority or domain authority.

Over the past 5-10 years, we have only seen mobile usage increases. That’s because more and more people are using their phones to purchase, research and to find entertainment. The consumption of content through a mobile device will only keep climbing as time goes on — that’s why it’s even more crucial to make sure you content is loading at optimal speeds.

By using the tips above, you’ll expedite your website’s content for the user and keep them on your website longer, helping your organic rankings by reducing the bounce rate.
